BASF

BASF

By the acquisition of Pronova BioPharma in January 2013, of Equateq, today BASF Pharma (Callanish), in May 2012 and of Cognis in December 2010, BASF became a global market leader for omega-3 fatty acids. The portfolio now covers high-concentrate omega-3 fatty acids for pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements. Besides its broad portfolio, BASF offers global customer reach, solid know-how and scientific expertise in the production of omega-3 fatty acids.
Omega-3 concentrates are produced in our facilities in Sandefjord (Norway) and Callanish (Scotland); headquarters are in Lilleaker (Oslo), Norway. In our site in Illertissen (Germany) we are performing refining and deodorization of natural oils, like fish oil, algae oil and ARA oil, for the food, medical food and infant nutrition industries.
