Varðin Pelagic is embarking on a strategic expansion into fish protein and crude fish oil products fit for human consumption. This is the first step in our commitment to minimizing waste and maximizing sustainability. Construction for the protein and crude oil factory starts in 2025, with production ready by autumn 2026. Blue whiting, along with offcuts from mackerel and herring, will be key raw materials for fish protein and crude fish oil.
