Katrina Benedicto has over twenty years of experience as an international marketer, with expertise in creating consumer brands emphasizing lifestyles of health and sustainability. 

In her role as Sustainability and Communications Director for Nuseed Nutritional, Katrina leads the marketing strategies for Aquaterra® and Nutriterra®Omega-3 Canola oils. She steers the team’s sustainability programs, spearheading certifications, partnerships, and progress reporting. 

She enjoys creating market awareness and demand for the world’s first bioengineered source of DHA and EPA. Partnership is essential to creating reach and Katrina represents Nuseed as an advisor to the UN Ocean Stewardship Coalition. 

Prior to joining Nuseed in 2020, Katrina opened new markets for Starbucks and developed the ESG strategies for Bewley’s Coffee and Tea. She earned her Literature degree from University of California, Santa Cruz and a certificate in Sustainable Business Management from Cambridge University. 


Why are you running for the Board of Directors?

GOED’s board is well-represented with scientific and regulatory leadership. I complement this team with expertise in consumer messaging and sustainability. 

Since joining GOED in 2020, I’ve had the pleasure of participating in the communications and sustainability committees. While I joined GOED as a newbie to the omega-3 space, I have learned so much from my peers over these years. Now its time to give back. 

What I can deliver to the board is a commitment to building demand for any and all sources of DHA and EPA omega-3s. Novel sources will be essential to engaging new consumers and securing a long-term supply of vital nutrition. I also bring deep knowledge of sustainability, being responsible for executing Nuseed’s annual ESG reports and Life Cycle Analyses (GHG studies) aligned with broadly accepted Science Based Targets. 

My deepest passion is consumer research and outreach. I have a history of success developing campaigns that drive funding and participation in a cleaner, greener, and healthier economy. I inspire others to action with simple, data-driven, meaningful storytelling. These are the talents and perspectives I will deliver if you select me to join the board.
