Tell us about yourself I am the Vice President of Certifications and Analytics for Nutrasource and have been the primary administrator for the IFOS marine oil certification program for 12 years. I have been a member of the GOED Technical Committee since 2012 and the GOED Science Committee since 2020. I have co-authored multiple papers with GOED in response to negative press releases and journal papers surrounding the ingredient category with regard to oxidation and omega-3 content as well as worked directly with member companies to promote this ingredient category. Why are you running for the Board of Directors? Nutrasource is a company with a unique position within the omega-3 landscape as we sell neither an omega-3 ingredient or a finished product. As a services provider to the industry, we have the ability to work equally with companies within all levels of the omega-3 supply chain, always with the end goal of ensuring that the highest quality omega-3 oils are being promoted to consumers. In pursuit of these goals, I have also assisted in developing specialized solutions for consumer perceptions of oxidization in flavored oils, radiation contamination (Fukushima) and other areas as they become a concern. In addition, through our third-party certification programs, we receive a unique, direct perspective into what consumers are looking for, where increased activity for this ingredient category is taking place, and are able to guide consumers towards the most reputable products in their market. I believe that due to this direct perspective into the consumer mindset, the positioning of Nutrasource in servicing both raw material ingredient companies and finished brands, and my own 15 years of experience within the omega-3 space, I will be able to provide a unique voice on any industry initiatives to the board.
