GOED Updates GOED Voluntary Monograph with Lower Lead Limit
As part of GOED’s commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in the industry, the organization maintains and continually updates a quality monograph to which members must adhere. The monograph was recently updated to lower the maximum limit for lead from 0.1 to 0.05 mg/kg.

GOED Appoints New Executive Director
GOED’s board of directors is pleased to announce that Ellen Schutt has been appointed as Executive Director of GOED. Ellen was previously Vice-President, Communications and Education and had been acting as Interim Executive Director since the departure of Adam Ismail at the end of February.

Omega-3 Intake Reduces Cardiac Death Risk According to Comprehensive New Study
Results from a new study published in the Journal of Clinical Lipidology showed that in 14 randomized, controlled trials (RCTs) of 71,899 people, consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3s reduced the risk of cardiac death by a statistically-significant average of 8 percent.
